Enter the lush green courtyard of the aptly named Le Chateau, and wander by a mature magnolia tree, boxwood hedges, up terracotta tile stairs, past decorative ironwork, and under a stylish metal portico to the door. It feels like vintage glamour, Hollywood-esque, established, a time when attention to detail made spaces beautiful. And, this period townhouse is just blocks from Lake Merritt, Equator Coffees, Firebrand Bakery, Whole Foods, and 19th Street BART.

Enter into an open and airy space with high ceilings, beautiful wood floors with inlaid detailing, and traditional windows that bathe the space in natural light. The scene stealer, however, is the living room, with its gorgeous beamed ceiling and artisan fireplace, inviting conversation, sitting, and cocktails. The recently remodeled kitchen has fantastic custom Edwardian Star flooring, new quartz countertops, updated cabinets. Adjacent is the breakfast area, a charming corner of windows looking out to palm trees and light. Up a grand staircase, find two bedrooms with ample closets, a full bath, and the cutest home office nook you’ve ever seen.

Two floors down, another spacious space can serve as a 3rd bedroom, family room, or 2nd home office and opens to reveal a verdant patio and garden, Lastly the  attached garage with interior access and new laundry machines to make life easy. This townhouse really has it all!

There is more to Lake Merritt than a beautiful body of water. Adams Point residents can easily access a few of the area’s popular public parks. Nearby Lakeside Park includes Children’s Fairyland, a storybook theme park that has delighted generations of kids and even served as a model for Disneyland Park. The three-mile pathway around the lake hosts hundreds of runners and walkers each day.

If you enjoy exploring a vast array of plant life, the Gardens at Lake Merritt are a must-see. Stroll through the peaceful Bonsai and Japanese Gardens, or transport yourself to a tropical paradise in the Palm Garden.

Just south of the Gardens is where you will find the Lake Merritt Boating Center, which offers sailing classes, as well as rents kayaks canoes, and sailboats. If you have your own boat or kayak, you can use it on Lake Merritt for a small fee.

Adams Point is a short stroll from the 19th Street Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station, making it a great neighborhood for commuters. Residents from Adams Point can ride to Google Headquarters in less than 40 minutes, and to the Financial District in less than 30. Additionally, the neighborhood’s close proximity to Interstate 580 makes it easy to travel to the Oakland Zoo or Up to UC Berkeley.

Living in Adams Point is great for people who love live entertainment, dinner & a movie, or a delicious meal. Paramount Theatre is less than one mile from Adams Point, and showcases a variety of live acts including stand-up comedy shows, concerts, and performing arts. About two blocks south, you will find the historic Fox Theater, which seats up to 2,800 people and features similar shows.

After a great show (or any time of day), Adams Point’s Grand Avenue offers a variety of dining options. Some of the local favorites include the New American sensation Sidebar, Coach Sushi, a popular Japanese restaurant known for its great sake, and many other top restaurants.
